I am an autobiographical artist alchemizing personal narrative into allegories of self-discovery and identity formation. Referencing childhood photographs and cultural iconography, I create dynamic artworks that prompt new ways of thinking about familiar images, mirroring the ways in which self-perception evolves. I work in mini series, most often diptychs and triptychs, to visually lay out the expanse of a concept or the chronology of change. My practice is rooted in the use of diverse mediums to achieve specific objectives — paintings combine unexpected pairs; archival installations evoke nostalgia; paper mache sculptures invite broad interpretation; poems introduce perspective. My goal is to create opportunities for deep recognition, visual meditation, and communal healing.
